Studija was pleased to collaborate with La Box (Bourges, France) in presenting the solo exhibition Therapeutic Coverage by Norwegian artist Anna Ihle. The artist explores the norms and narratives that shape how people in Scandinavia organise their lives, particularly through work ideals, wellness routines, and parenthood—often in the form of sculpture and conversation.

Therapeutic Coverage takes as its point of departure a conceptual exploration of wellness culture, therapeutic practices, and traditional treatments for wooden surfaces. The project was developed over an extended period through a collaboration between Ihle and Latvian curator Maija Rudovska, who were both affected by COVID-19 and engaged in ongoing conversations about conspirituality and artistic practice, gradually shaping the project. Ihle spent a month in the Studija residency in 2024 to develop her work and learn surface treatment techniques from local Kuldīga-based craftsmen.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with Buskerud Kunstsenter (Norway) and Studija Space (Latvia), and was supported by La Box, the Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA), and Arts Council Norway.
