𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝗱ī𝗴𝗮 (𝗟𝗩).

Studija Space invites artists, curators, writers, designers, photographers, and other practitioners to envision their projects at a young art space in Kuldīga, Latvia.

𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁-𝗶𝗻-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟ī𝘃𝗶𝗷𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘇𝗲𝘃𝘀𝗸𝗮 (𝟭𝟵𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰), 𝗮 𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝗱ī𝗴𝗮, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆.

The residency welcomes explorations of both the contemporaneity and the historical, individuals and objects, processes and phenomena.

Thematic directions for the 2026 program include:

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 - A celebration of strength, resilience, courage, and vision. From small to big dreams, this theme embraces longing and the power of imagination—whether nurtured quietly in a pocket or boldly out in the world.

𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲 - A space to embrace the hidden, the suppressed, the mysterious, the eerie, and the otherworldly. This theme welcomes liminal practices.

𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘆 𝗢𝘄𝗻 - A reflection on intimacy, privacy, and the everyday. It values the mundane and seemingly insignificant, allowing these to flourish and resonate on a larger scale.

Residencies will last from one to two months throughout 2026. (Please indicate your preferred time frame in the application form.)
