Paula Buškevica is a graphic designer working across visual identities, publications, web and exhibition design, collaborating with artists, curators, cultural institutions and independent initiatives. Her independent work extends into cross-technique processes and material meandering, as well as practices of writing, tour-making, recording, and publishing.
She holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Design from the Estonian Academy of Arts and has a background in fine arts. Her further learning includes participation in programs and residencies such as Methods and Forms of Writing (SKH, SE), Artists ’Research Laboratory (Fondazione Antonio Ratti, IT), and the Scottish Sculpture Workshop (UK).
During her stay at Studija, she will be working on the anthology of Latvian small presses and printing practices that will document the activities and experiments of micro-publishers in Latvia from the early 20th century (for example, the establishment of the Klints printing house in Alsunga in 1927) to the present day (entropy press, kuš!, Valters Dakša’s publishing initiatives), highlighting how small presses, underground periodicals, and artist-produced booklets continue to play a significant role in shaping Latvia’s cultural identity.
Additionally she is a designer of an upcoming book “Blue, Blue Skye” (“Zila, zila debess”), a publication dedicated to Kuldīga's Honorary sculptor Līvija Rezevska, who would have turned 100 years old in 2026.
The residency is supported by Valsts kultūrkapitāla fonds.
