From 12–17 July 2026, Studija Space hosted the Art Therapy Lab International Residency, followed by a collaborative programme featuring a workshop by eco-art therapist Mor Keshet at the VV Foundation in Pāvilosta on 17–18 July.
This year’s theme centred on the concept of roots as a foundation for supporting a larger ecosystem, exploring healing through our relationship to land, community, and shared histories. Through embodied, art-based, and site-responsive practices, participants were invited to draw on both community resources and personal experience, engaging with the land as witness and teacher.
The residency was organised by art therapist Julia Volonts together with curator and Studija director Maija Rudovska. This year’s programme also featured landscape architect Ilze Rukšāne, storyteller and folklorist Ina Celitāne, and artist, educator, and researcher Ilga Leimanis, alongside eco-art practitioner Mor Keshet. The residency brought together twelve participants from Austria, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, Lithuania, the Philippines, and several other countries.
